Great Dividing Range

The Great Dividing Range runs 3,500km along Australia's eastern seaboard, the continent's longest mountain chain. Despite modest elevation with Kosciuszko reaching only 2,228m, the range captures Pacific moisture and forms the watershed for eastern Australia's rivers. The Snowy Mountains host Australia's only true alpine zone.
