Lhotse (8516m)
5Lhotse cao 8516 mét tại Nepal, thuộc Himalayas, Asia. Đỉnh này được phân loại là Fold Mountain.
The fourth-highest mountain in the world, Lhotse reaches 8,516 metres on the Nepalese flank of the Mahalangur Himalaya. It shares the Western Cwm and the Khumbu region with neighbouring Everest, to which it is joined by the high saddle of the South Col. Lhotse is a fold mountain, built by the same continental collision that raised the surrounding range. The site classifies it grade 5, its hardest tier, and the peak is known among specialists for the steep, avalanche-prone couloir that splits its summit face. Most successful climbers approach through the same icefall used for Everest before branching toward Lhotse's own headwall high on the mountain.
