ดูภูเขา →The Weisshorn (4,506m) in the Valais Alps is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful mountains in the Alps — a perfect pyramid of ice and rock above the Mattertal valley. The East Ridge (Ostgrat) is the classic route, ascending via the Weisshorn Hut at 2,932m to a long rock and snow ridge that culminates in the narrow, corniced summit arete. The climb is TD-rated (Très Difficile) — sustained Grade III rock with sections of exposed snow and ice requiring rope work throughout. A licensed IFMGA guide is essential. The reward is one of the finest ridge traverses in the Alps, with the Zinalrothorn, Zermatt peaks, and Mont Blanc massif filling the horizon.

Day 1: Randa to Weisshorn Hut¶
From Randa village in the Mattertal, a steep trail through forest and alp gains the East Ridge base. The Weisshorn Hut (SAC) is a classic old-style refuge perched above the Randa valley with the full East Ridge looming overhead. Gear inspection with the guide; early dinner and lights out.
Day 2: Weisshorn Hut to Summit and Return to Hut¶
3 AM departure up the East Ridge. The lower section is mixed rock (Grade III) leading to the upper snow arete, which narrows dramatically toward the summit pyramid. The top at 4,506m is a razor-thin snow crest. Return to the hut by mid-afternoon for a second night.
Day 3: Weisshorn Hut to Randa¶
Final descent on recovered legs back to Randa for the train connection to Zermatt or Visp. Debrief with the guide and celebration in the valley.
