Topographic contour map of Mont Dolent (3820m)

Mont Dolent (3,820m) is a unique geographic landmark: its summit is the precise triple-border point of France, Switzerland, and Italy in the Mont Blanc massif. The 2-day route from La Fouly in the Swiss Val Ferret approaches via the Cabane du Trient SAC hut (3,170m) to the Col du Dolent and Northeast Ridge. The summit day involves mixed terrain and a short section of moderate alpine ice. Three countries are visible simultaneously from the top. An IFMGA guide is advisable for those without prior alpine experience; more experienced alpinists can ascend independently with correct glacier travel equipment.
