Island Peak (Imja Tse, 6,189m) is the most popular trekking peak in Nepal's Khumbu region, combining the classic Everest Base Camp approach with a genuine high-altitude summit. This 14-day itinerary flies into Lukla and treks through Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche before reaching Island Peak basecamp at 5,087m. Summit day follows the South Ridge via fixed ropes and a 45-degree ice headwall to the summit ridge. An NMA trekking peak permit and experienced guide are required.
Day 1: Lukla to Namche Bazaar¶
