Western Ghats

The Western Ghats run 1,600km along India's southwestern coast, reaching 2,695m at Anamudi in Kerala. This UNESCO World Heritage biodiversity hotspot is one of the world's eight hottest biodiversity hotspots. The range intercepts monsoon moisture, creating extraordinary endemic flora and fauna in dense shola forests.
