Cordillera Occidental

The Cordillera Occidental forms the western chain of Peru and Bolivia's Andes, containing active volcanoes rising above 6,000m. Sajama (6,542m) is the most prominent summit. Many peaks require straightforward glacier climbing and serve as classic acclimatization objectives before higher Himalayan expeditions.
